A Welcome letter from your MCR President 2024-25

In my capacity as your MCR President, I want to warmly welcome you to Oxford and to Kellogg. Whether you’re just starting out or returning for another chapter, it’s a pleasure to have you with us.

You’re joining a community that is one of the most diverse, ambitious and thriving in Oxford. The question, “what even is a College?” comes up more often than you’d think. You may have found the formal definitions already but to me, a College is its people. And here at Kellogg, we’re lucky to have some of the best people. It’s my privilege to be part of this community and my delight to welcome you into it.

As you walk around the city with your shiny new Bod Card, you might need to pinch yourself. More importantly, I want to remind you: you belong here. Your MCR Committee is here to help you feel at home in Oxford and to support you however we can. We’re a small team at the moment, but we’re committed to making a big impact.

Throughout the year, we’ll be running a wide range of events, from the social to the reflective, the casual to the creative. From dinners and drinks to exchanges and BOPs, we’ll help you settle in and make memories along the way. There are plenty of ways to get involved too, including joining a sports club, volunteering behind the bar, or standing in the next MCR elections.

It’s incredible to see how far our MCR has come, and I’m excited about where we’re headed. I remain committed to empowering our committee to keep building a thriving, inclusive and vibrant student community, shaped by you.
