Kellogg College MCR Committee 2024-2025

Fahad Al-Huda, President

It is a delight to have been elected to serve as Kellogg MCR’s President for this academic year. My tenure’s focus will be to continue nurturing a sense of belonging to enhance our lively academic community, reflective of the diversity and excellence of our student members. I aim to champion your MCR Committee in actioning academic, social and welfare initiatives. In this way, I hope to make sure our MCR feels like a home away from home for all members of our Kellogg family.

Bob Sira, Vice-President

Bob is reading for an MSc in Software Engineering and moonlights as a Software Engineer at Microsoft (apparently, caffeine plus C-GPT really do work miracles). As Vice President of the MCR, he bravely supports the President, champions part-time students, and helps plan all sorts of social shenanigans alongside the rest of the committee. Most mornings, you can spot him rowing for Christ Church Boathouse at sunrise—or anywhere else there’s something fun happening around Oxford. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about MCR life or just want to banter about anything.

Nehal Kaul, Treasurer

Hello, my name is Nehal, and I am currently doing my MPhil in Economics at Oxford. I am thrilled to have been elected as the MCR Treasurer this year, a role that allows me to contribute to the vibrant and dynamic Kellogg community. Over the past year, I have truly come to appreciate the diversity and inclusivity that define our college. From engaging in enriching conversations to participating in a variety of events, my experience at Kellogg has been nothing short of inspiring.
As Treasurer, my primary goal is to ensure that the MCR’s funds are utilized efficiently and thoughtfully. I am committed to supporting initiatives and events that reflect the broad interests of our community, fostering a sense of belonging for all members. Whether it’s collaborating with fellow officers or engaging with students directly, I am eager to create opportunities that enhance the MCR experience.
When I’m not working on MCR projects or focusing on my academic research, you’ll often find me in the Kellogg Hub, enjoying the lively atmosphere, or tucked away in one of Oxford’s many cozy bookstore-cafes, indulging in my love for books. I look forward to an exciting year ahead and am always happy to hear from fellow students about ideas, concerns, or even book recommendations!

Sharvi Maheshwari, Diversity and Inclusion Officer

Hi, I’m Sharvi Maheshwari, and I’m thrilled to serve as your Equality and Diversity Officer at Kellogg College. As a DPhil student in Theology and Religion with a knack for diving deep into cultural nuances, I’ve tried to explore everything from ancient texts to modern intersections of faith and identity. When I’m not immersed in research, you’ll likely find me choreographing a dance performance.
With a background in community engagement and inclusivity-focused roles, I’m dedicated to fostering an environment where every member feels valued and empowered. My experience includes serving as the Ethnicity Advisor at Queen’s College Translation Programmes, tutoring at various Oxford colleges, organizing inclusive outreach initiatives, and creating spaces for diverse voices through lectures, workshops, and cultural events. At Kellogg, I aim to celebrate the vibrant community and address challenges to equality head-on.
I’m here to listen and act—let’s build a more inclusive Kellogg together!
Please feel free to reach out with ideas or feedback- sharvi.maheshwari@theology.ox.ac.uk

Alastair McCullough, Strategy and Development Officer

I’m reading for a DPhil in Computer Science, and I teach a little on the MSc in Professional Software Engineering.  I spent last academic year re-developing our MCR Treasury function, putting students’ needs at the heart of what we do, working closely with our executive and college Finance team as your Treasurer.  This year, my passion for supporting you, our student body, and our college members’ needs builds on the strong insights, friendships, and relationships I grew.  I’m focusing on
working with Kellogg’s Development and Alumni Relations Committee, Bursar, Fellows, and others, and of course our MCR executive and committee, to ensure financial support for students is enhanced and targeted where it’s most needed, making a clear, positive impact on student and member experience, assuring benefits for our college directly, through scholarships, grants, and improved facilities.  Catch me in our Dining Room at Kellogg GNDs in the evenings, over lunch during term, or in The Hub, and share your ideas and thoughts with me!  You can find out more about me here: https://www.cs.ox.ac.uk/people/alastair.mccullough/

Jean-Marie Bise, Social Secretary

Sachi Chan, Social Secretary

Hey everyone, I’m Sachi Chan (she/her). I’m excited to be one of your social secretaries for the 2024/2025 year. I know how intimidating it can be to make new friendships (especially if you came to Oxford not knowing anyone) on top of navigating your graduate studies. My goal as social secretary to help you find a new home here at Kellogg while you’re away from home. I love organizing social events that bring people together, as you may have noticed from MT + WW! Outside of soc sec duties, you can find me studying for the MSc in Translational Health Sciences, trying all of Oxford’s local restaurants + cafes, and/or bouldering. I’m one text away on WhatsApp if you ever want to chat or have any event ideas

Emily Fowler, Social Secretary

As a MSc candidate studying the Social Science of the Internet, it is an honor to serve as a Kellogg Social Secretary. Prior to studying at the OII, I worked as a Legal Process Manager at Automattic, where I advocated for free expression and user rights by pushing back on government overreach. I evaluated government content takedown requests and gained an intimate understanding of what free expression truly means in an increasingly polarized digital world. Originally from the United States, I hold a BA in Political Science from the University of Oregon and am fascinated by the way power structures can be dismantled (or emboldened) by the Internet. I am interested in Internet democratization, preventing online censorship, and the governance of emerging technology.

Anoud Almoqbil, Arts and Culture Officer

Hi everyone! I’m Anoud Almoqbil – your Arts and Culture Officer at Kellogg College.
I’m originally from Saudi Arabia and have spent the last 10 years exploring and working in different parts of the world. These experiences have been truly enriching, allowing me to immerse myself in diverse cultures, traditions, and artistic expressions. Now, as an MBA student at Oxford, I’m excited to channel this passion into our vibrant Kellogg community.
Whether it’s planning creative events or uncovering Oxford’s hidden cultural gems, my goal is to help us connect—not just through art but also through the incredible diversity we share here at Kellogg.
When I’m not in classes, you’ll likely find me capturing moments through street photography, visiting exhibits, or enjoying a good book at one of Oxford’s cosy cafes. I can’t wait to meet you all and make this year an inspiring and memorable for our community!

Nicola Tomlin, Welfare and Equality Officer

Hi! I’m Nicola. This is my second year at Kellogg, completing an MPhil in Comparative Social Policy. I started my programme because I’ve always cared for the well-being of others and was interested in how the welfare state can help to ensure everyone’s basic needs are met. Now, I also hope to bring Kellogg into a state of welfare. Feel free to reach out with any questions or ideas!
