Kellogg College MCR Committee 2025-2026

Eylul Kara, President

Abigail Patchell, Vice-President

Hi everyone! My name is Abby and I’m reading for the MSc in Clinical Embryology, and hoping to go into genetic counselling. I did my undergraduate degree back in Canada in genetics, then worked as a research assistant in a neuroscience lab focused on neuroplasticity and learning for the past year and a half. I love hiking and pretty much all things outdoors! I’m excited to be a part of the MCR committee and want to bring students voices to the forefront of what we do. If you have ideas for events or amenities you want to see brought to Kellogg, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to bringing everyone’s ideas to life and fostering a rich student community at Kellogg!

Seema Athmeeya, Treasurer

Namaskara! I’m Seema from Bengaluru, currently pursuing an MSc in Software and System Security at Oxford’s Department of Computer Science. With a background in software development and a passion for problem-solving, I’m grateful to serve as the Treasurer for the Kellogg MCR, supporting our vibrant and diverse student community. In previous student committee roles, I’ve enjoyed organising events and helping people connect. As Badminton Captain at Kellogg, I encourage everyone to join in and have fun.
If you have ideas for events or amenities you’d like to see at Kellogg, I’d love to hear from you – I’m always happy to listen and help. My goal is to nurture and support our community’s needs. As this year’s committee’s “Ms Moneybags,” I look forward to bringing your suggestions to life, and helping make Kellogg a truly welcoming, inclusive home for all.

Beatriz Campos Codo, Diversity and Inclusion Officer

Alastair McCullough, Strategy and Development Officer

Hi – I’m a third year reading for a full time DPhil in Computer Science, and I teach a little on the Professional Master’s Programme MSc in Software Engineering. I spent my first academic year at Kellogg re-developing our MCR Treasury function, putting students’ needs at the heart of what we do, working closely with our executive and college Finance team as your Treasurer. This and last year, my passion for supporting our students’ and our college members’ needs builds on the strong insights, friendships, and relationships I grew and have sustained. I’m focusing on working with Kellogg’s Development and Alumni Relations Committee, Bursar, Fellows, and others, and of course our MCR executive and committee, to ensure financial support for students is enhanced and targeted where it’s most needed, making a clear, positive impact on student and member experience, assuring benefits for our college directly, through scholarships, grants, and improved facilities. Catch me on our MCR Social WhatsApp group, in our Dining Room at Kellogg GNDs in the evenings, over lunch during term, or in The Hub, and share your ideas and thoughts with me! You can find out more about me here: https://www.cs.ox.ac.uk/people/alastair.mccullough/

John Belcher-Heath, Sports Officer

Hi, I am a second-year DPhil student reading for Autonomous Intelligent Machines and Systems (AIMS), with a focus on planning under uncertainty in maritime environments. I am extremely passionate about sports, from the social to the most competitive level. I’ve thrown my hat into pretty much everything, with varying degrees of success. My main sport I compete at Blues level in is Rugby, playing the English varsity in 2025, and playing in the (slightly older) Scottish varsity in 2022 and 2023 for St Andrews. This year, I am keen to help strengthen Kellogg’s sporting identity, support existing clubs, and encourage new ones to grow. If you want to chat about anything sport-related, you’ll usually find me around college, at the Robotics Institute, or down at Iffley on a cold night.

Behrad Ahmadpour, Welfare and Equality Officer

Hi, I’m Behrad, a DPhil student in Computer Science at Oxford, with an academic background that has taken me across East Asia—Japan, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan—as well as the Middle East through my own roots. These experiences have given me an appreciation of cultural diversity and a better understanding of the different challenges students may face when living and studying away from home.
My goal is to make Kellogg a safe and supportive space for everyone—a true home away from home. I want students to feel free to reach out and share their feelings, whether it’s to talk through a problem or simply have someone to listen to your cohort gossip 🙂
Alongside my role at Kellogg, I am also involved in the Oxford Cyber Security Society and the Oxford Diplomatic Society, so you may see me more often than you expect – and in places you don’t expect 🙂
Hope to see you all at our Weekly Welfare Tea and Cake!
